Rumtown 17 Year Old
An impressive Venezuelan rum here, independently bottled by Rumtown. It was distilled by C.A.C.D. back in 2004, and it spent 17 years maturing (mostly in Venezuela, partially in the Dominican Republic, a finally in the UK) before being bottled up at 57.7% ABV. It's got a huge, rewarding flavour profile just waiting to be enjoyed.
Matured in American Oak casks from 2004 to 2012 then shipped to the Dominican Republic in same cask and aged for a further 3 years. In 2016 shipped to UK and refilled into recycled rum casks (oak) in June 2017.

Tasting Notes:
The enticing, rich nut-brown colour almost hides the fact that this is a Golden Rum. Quickly however, the Golden Rum characteristics shine through with delightful toffee notes on the pronounced nose that excite the senses for what is to follow on the palate. There is no disappointment, the mouth is coated with refined and soft flavours of treacle, vanilla and spice all rounded off with subtle dark chocolate notes. The aftertaste gives a pleasing glow and lingers with great length and exudes quality
